Saw the invite on the notice-board. Real snazzy! And you're becoming a regular in these parts, hey?

Dont know if I'll be around for this, though. We have our Departmental Board of Studies meeting in the morning from 10 am to 1 pm or 2 or 3 ...God knows. About the only thing I'll be in the mood for after that is murder, bloody muder. :) Any case, high tea + poetry is a bit much for this prosaic soul.

Have fun.

Sigh. Now you've made me feel nostalgic for old college notices. The kind where they still use words like "Eminent" and feel obliged to use all the font formatting options on MS word that they've only just discovered.

"Tea" is frustratingly ambiguous. Biscuits? Samosas? Cucumber-and-tomato sandwiches?

I wish I could be less earthy and more like Mark Strand:
"Ink runs from the corners of my mouth.
There is no happiness like mine.
I have been eating poetry."

smoke screen: come now. soothe your bloodied heart with poetry and all that. (and you're the one who posts hughes and soyinka on your blog; you've been found out).

yes, i appear to be turning up there quite often, no?

falsie: does it make you want to put up debating-society-type posters, precious?

cat: tea produces such delirium?! full report shall follow re samosas and/or cucumber sandwiches. I am hoping with all my heart that I do not sneeze and cough my way through the reading. damn october.

Shouldn't there be a law in favor of posting poetry-reading events' notices in verse?

And the only things we had to look forward to were unspeakably boring talks by dept professors once a semester. :-(
